about

This is a self produced album by Atlanta band Pink Pompeii. The band consists of Courtney King on vocals, guitar, keyboards and percussion, Nan Kemberling on cello and vocals and Rob Gal providing guitar, keyboards and vocals.
These songs are a real creative collaboration by the band with each member bringing their own "certain something" to the party. The concept is to do music the group finds interesting regardless of what trampling they do to the borders of genre or style. Some of the sounds are lush, others are harsh. There are humorous moments as well as dark, desperate ones. Courtney and Nan have two very distinct vocal styles and work equally well separately or together, at times evoking 60's girl groups at other times more mature sounds. All in all the album is diverse yet still cohesive.

Today Pink Pompeii includes five musicians. ... more
